Frequently Asked Questions

How long does shipping take?

We process orders placed before 2 PM PT the same business day. USPS First Class typically arrives in 2–5 business days; Priority Mail in 1–3. You'll see live rates and estimated delivery dates at checkout so you can pick whatever works best.

Is my document secure?

Yes — your PDF travels over HTTPS, sits in restricted cloud storage while your order is active, and is automatically deleted within 30 days of shipment. No one can access your file except you and our print operator.

Can I send the same document to multiple people?

Absolutely. In your cart, tap "Add Another Recipient" on any document and add as many addresses as you need. Each recipient gets their own printed copy, and shipping is calculated separately per address.

What file formats do you accept?

PDF only — it's the only format that guarantees your layout and fonts print exactly as intended. Make sure your PDF is print-ready before uploading.

What's the maximum order size?

500 pages per order. Got a longer document? Just split it into multiple orders — we'll handle each one the same day.

What if something goes wrong with my order?

We'll make it right. Contact us from the Support page within 30 days of delivery with your order number and we'll reprint, reship, or refund — whichever fits. Full details are in Section 12 of our Terms.

Where can I find your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service?

Right here: Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Both are also linked in the footer on every page.

What kinds of documents can I print and mail through PrintByPost?

Almost anything you'd put in a USPS envelope: contracts, signed agreements, resumes, rental applications, invoices, tax forms, legal letters, greeting cards, business letters, photos, and personal correspondence. PrintByPost is built for one-off and small-batch jobs — not bulk mailers or marketing campaigns. We accept PDFs (best fidelity) plus JPG, PNG, HEIC, and WebP images.

How fast can I print and mail a contract?

Same business day for most orders placed before mid-afternoon. From there, USPS delivery depends on the tier you pick: Standard reaches US addresses in 5–10 business days, Priority in 1–3 days, Express in 1–2 days. If you need a signed contract delivered urgently, choose Priority Express at checkout.

Is PrintByPost cheaper than FedEx Office or the UPS Store?

Usually yes — especially for short documents being mailed (not picked up). PrintByPost starts at $2.99 including standard shipping. A FedEx Office mail-and-print order for the same document typically runs $7–15 once you add the envelope, label, and shipping. PrintByPost also doesn't charge a per-trip fee or require you to visit a store.

Do you mail internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide via USPS International. One-page B&W international orders start at $4.99 including standard delivery. Most countries reach 5–10 business days; some regions are longer. Customs forms are filled out automatically based on the addresses.

Can I mail to a PO box?

Yes — USPS delivers to PO boxes just like street addresses. Enter the PO box at checkout. We can't ship to PO boxes via Priority Express (USPS limitation), but Standard and Priority Mail both work.

Can I send certified mail or registered mail?

Not directly through the upload flow yet — for now, Priority Mail with tracking is our most accountable option. If you specifically need certified mail with a return receipt for legal service, email info@printbypost.com and we can quote it as a custom order.

Can I upload a Word document?

Yes — drop in a .doc or .docx and we convert it to PDF automatically before printing (you'll see the converted preview and page count before paying). Fonts and layout come through cleanly for standard documents; if your file uses unusual fonts, double-check the preview. Files up to 6 MB convert automatically — larger ones should be saved as PDF in Word first.

Can I print and mail a photo or image file?

Yes. JPG, PNG, HEIC, and WebP all work. Each image is printed as one page. Most photo papers and printouts look good at standard letter size; if you need a specific photo paper or non-standard size, email info@printbypost.com.

What's the difference in price between color and black-and-white?

Color adds a per-page premium over the B&W rate. The exact rates are listed on the pricing page and update live in the cart as you toggle options. A short letter that's color throughout typically lands a dollar or two above the B&W price; longer color jobs scale from there.

How much does double-sided printing save me?

Double-sided printing saves a small amount per physical sheet, and the discount shows up automatically when you toggle the option in the cart. It only applies to documents that are at least 2 pages long — a 1-page document is still 1 physical sheet, single-sided or not. The savings stack across all double-sided items in your order.

When do you delete my uploaded file?

Uploaded files are removed from our cloud storage no later than 30 days after the order ships, or earlier on request. The order record (status, tracking, totals) stays in our system for tax and chargeback purposes, but the document itself is purged. We never use uploaded files to train ML models, sell them, or use them for advertising.
